Since 1993 we have spent several holidays camping in
Europe. We use a converted DODGE Ram 350 Van, as camping vehicle. During the
night 3 adults and 1 child can find a place to sleep.
More info? Click on the link.
The different places we have visited are listed by country.
Until today we have been to 4 different countries: Spain,
(5 campgrounds) France, (7
campgrounds), G.D. Luxemburg( sorry, only 1
campground) and The Netherlands (mea
culpa, only 1 camp ground)
Have a nice stay…and
please let me know if you noticed changes to the wheelchair users facilities.

Recently
i received an e-mail from a camping owner in Spain, describing the
wheelie facilities he made on this camping site: called
El Astral
Dear Sir/ Madam, I'm the owner of a campsite in Spain..... (we also have accessible WC and facilities). As for the accessible facilities, the WC is private with a key ( 7 m2 ). Almost new
equipment, toilet is 40 cm high, standing in the corner, with a foldable grip on the right
(where your wheelchair is standing), with a fixed vertical and horizontal grip
opposite. The shower seat is the toilet. The sink is bowed and so is the
mirror. The bathroom has no alarm at the moment. The Bar and Restaurant are accessible as the pool
(no hydraulic lift). The Reception and Supermarket will be accessible in a short
time.),

In
France at the Île de Ré there is a camping called L'Accolade, an
heaven for wheelies?

Angie has collected lots of data about accessible camping in the UK.

For the last nine months I have been
compiling details of caravan sites for disabled people, with the
minimum requirements of a loo, basin and shower with ramped access.
This is because we have a disabled son and I was getting very
frustrated trying to find sites with these facilities.
